And just like that…

And just like that the holidays are over.

This year was probably the worst yet.  I’m so unorganized.  I didn’t even get Christmas cards sent out.  It’s the first time, I think, since we were married 14 years ago.  Definitely the first time since Ian was born 9 years ago.  (Don’t kids make such easy subjects for Christmas cards?)

Fall and the holidays are usually my favorite time of year.  In all honesty it still is.  Somehow, this year, I just couldn’t see the “magic”.  I didn’t take any time to appreciate what was going on around me.  Everything felt like just another thing I had to do.

So here we are – the 4th day of 2014 – and I think I have hit rock bottom.  I’m ready for a change.  I’m ready to start taking care of myself, my marriage, my family, my house.  Get things in order.  Bring some peace to my ever racing mind.

There are so many things I want to get started with but first will be a meal plan.  We have eaten out every night since December 30th.  Not good.  No way to save money, lose weight or feel good about taking care of my family.  So a meal plan and grocery list it is!

How were your holidays?  Hopefully you felt a bit better about them than I did, but if not, do you have a plan to get back into the swing of things?
